Dais Energy Ventures, Kemexon, & ESPO Holding announce Joint Venture to Deliver 600MW of BESS Projects in Romania
Dais Energy Ventures, Kemexon and Romanian renewable energy developer ESPO Holding has entered a joint venture to accelerate the deployment of 600MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Romania over the next three years. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of all parties to advancing sustainable energy infrastructure in Europe and addressing critical challenges in Romania’s energy market.
A Vital Opportunity for Energy Transition
The projects, which range in duration and functionality, are designed to manage the volatility of power prices while significantly increasing the integration of renewable energy into Romania’s grid. These systems will provide essential support to grid stability and flexibility, enabling a higher penetration of wind and solar power. Ready-to-build (RtB) dates for the initial projects are targeted for mid-2025, marking an ambitious timeline for the region’s energy transition.
Strategic Alignment for Energy Innovation
Dais Energy Ventures, a leader in renewable energy development, will bring its expertise in large-scale BESS deployment, while Kemexon, known for its market expertise in asset-backed trading, will contribute its technical and market insights. ESPO Holding, with its strong track record in renewable energy development in Romania, will provide critical local expertise and project development capabilities.
